2019 Categories
Miss Lyra NZ 2019 will feature 3 categories:
-
Open – Solo for the title of ‘Miss Lyra New Zealand 2019’
-
Group – Open Group Competition
-
Amateur – Intermediate/Beginner Non-professional Solo
Competitors to which one of more of the following applies should consider either Open, or Group:
-
Teach Lyra professionally.
-
Perform paid performances for corporate clients.
-
A previous winner of Miss Lyra New Zealand Amateur.
OPEN, & GROUP
2019 Miss Lyra NZ – Judge Sheet – Open & Group
Required Elements:
-
A drop (Solo performances only).
-
A move which demonstrates the competitors’ strength.
-
A trick requiring majority of the competitors’ body to be above the top bar.
Restrictions:
-
Be no longer than 4 minutes in duration.
-
Not use either Foot, or Hand Loops.
-
Lyra must be at a fixed height.
AMATEUR
2019 Miss Lyra NZ – Judge Sheet – Amateur
Required Elements:
-
Include at least two separate spins below the Hoop.
-
An element of Dance.
Restrictions:
-
Be no longer than 3 minutes in duration.
-
Not use either Foot, or Hand Loops.
-
Lyra must be at a fixed height.
-
No Shoulder mounts.
-
A maximum of one continuous roll.
-
Limitation on drops;
-
Starting position must have at least 3 points of contact with the Hoop.
-
During the drop, there must always be at least 1 point of contact.
-
If dropping to a single knee, it must be a locked single knee hang.
-
No drops to a single arm hang.
-
-
No Heel, Toe, or Neck hangs.
Competitors in all categories will be judged within these two areas:

Technique & Execution – 50%
-
Showmanship & Presentation – 50%
